A fast-track, design/build project to replace the existing, original soccer and softball facilities damaged by a tornado in spring 2019. Construction will be complete and ready for use at the start of the 2020 soccer season and 2021 softball season. Softball and soccer programs will share a new 22,000-sf, two-level field house with locker rooms, lounge, training spaces, offices, and meeting rooms. MEP systems utilize chilled/heating water for HVAC, LED lighting, and new power distribution with on-site standby generator. Additionally, the project scope includes new LED stadium/field sports lighting systems with stepped dimming control. The new field house is positioned between soccer and softball through a series of concrete retaining walls resulting in approximately 30ft of elevation difference. The building will be cut into and directly adjacent to soccer requiring a 14ft concrete basement wall. The structure will consist of concrete on metal deck with composite steel beams.
