New 450,000 sf recycled paper manufacturing plant in Henderson, Kentucky. The facility is comprised of multi-story structural steel framing with concrete floors. Two 70-metric ton cranes spanning 105ft service the Paper Machine Hall and a 15-metric ton crane spanning 120ft services Stock Prep. The Paper machine is supported by a massive elevated cast-in-place concrete structure. AFJMc worked with the machine manufacturer to incorporate their machine finite element analysis model into AFJMc’s structural foundation model to analyze the harmonic properties of the machine/foundation system. AFJMc worked with teams across the US, Austria and Finland to complete the design. Drawings were produced in Revit which allowed coordination across the multi-discipline teams in 3D format. Steel and foundation design and plan production was 95% complete within 4.5 months in order to expedite material procurement and construction.
