New 60,000-sf convention center and 3.3-acre green space at the owner’s existing site in Tyler, TX. Interior lighting design made use of LED fixtures, including both architectural and specialty pendants, recessed linear, recessed downlight and cove lighting fixtures. The design utilized both direct and indirect means of illumination to provide functional and decorative accent lighting of the various spaces. DMX lighting control of individually addressable fixtures was provided for the Main Hall, while a smaller, separate, system with flexible scene control was provided for lighting in the Breakout Rooms. Extensive exterior lighting of both the building, the site and the surrounding roadway was additionally designed utilizing pole mounted site/roadway lighting, recessed linear in-paving fixtures, recessed in-paving cans, bollards, and landscape uplighting. The exterior façade of this facility is a mixture of site cast concrete walls, expansive glass systems and masonry veneer extending from 32ft to 42ft above the ground floor. The building is wrapped on three sides with a large canopy protecting from a brick arch colonnade. The conference room floor plan required the use of long span roof joists spanning 127ft to provide a column free space.
